Day Trip to The Middle Atlas
Fragrant cedar and cork oak forests, waterfalls, bathing and reservoirs and Berber villages characterize the Middle Atlas. We will visite many places such as:
Azrou :
Azrou lies on the western edge of the Middle Atlas at an altitude of 125o m, at the crossroads of the roads to Fez, Meknes, Midelt and Khenifra. The famous Berber carpets can be bought in the souks every Tuesday.
In the area of Azrou you will find the largest cedar tree in the world with a circumference of over 10 m.
Ifran :
In Ifrane. You will feel like you are in a village in the Swiss Alps: pretty houses built in European style, flower borders, fountains …
In winter you can go skiing here and in Mischliffen, 19 km away.
the Middle Atlas :
This city, located between the Middle and High Atlas, offers spectacular views of the High Atlas. Midelt is a mining town. Due to the location in the mountains, you can also buy fossils and semi-precious stones in addition to the Berber carpets. A serpentine slope leads through the promontory of Djebel Ayachi at 3737 m, which offers great views of the Atlas peaks.
